The New Jersey Buddhist Vihara was established in the year 2002. It was first conducted on a rental property and in the year 2004 the Buddhist community in New Jersey purchased an exquisite 10 acre block of land, close to Princeton Universitiy.

The objective of the temple is to benefit the Buddhists as well as others for their mental happiness, peace and tranquility.
