To kindle the light of wisdom for it to shine across Malaysia and beyond, Aloka Foundation will set out to:
- Establish spiritual retreat centres; assist and sponsor the Buddhist Sangha community and lay practitioners to undergo training in meditation and Buddhist studies as well as carry out Buddhist pilgrimages;
- Provide facilities for the training of Dhammaduta or Buddhist missionaries; and sponsor youth leadership training, volunteer services and youth exchange programmes; and
- Organise and sponsor religious educational, welfare and other related activities that promote religious harmony and world peace.

Bhaddekaratta Hermitage was established in 1999 by Venerable Vajira. It is located at Batu Pahat in the state of Johor in West Malaysia, about 3 hrs from KLIA airport and 2 hrs from Singapore by car. The Hermitage is surrounded by a lush forest reserve and oil palm plantation, providing a tranquil and conducive environment for meditation practice.
The Hermitage welcomes people with serious intent in meditation practice. All yogis have to observe the 8 precepts. Yogis are required to stay a minimum of 5 days as time is required for yogis to understand the fundamentals which will help them gain faith in the Buddhas teachings. Those who request for a retreat for less than 5 days should seek permission from Bhante.

YBAM coordinates more than 260 member organisations through its 13 State Liaison Committees all over Malaysia. Besides, YBAM also coordinates the varsities’ Buddhist societies (including teacher training colleges), secondary schools’ Buddhist societies and Buddhist Youth Fellowship through the various Standing Committees. YBAM also participates actively in the Malaysian Youth Council (MBM), the Eight Major Chinese Youth Organisation (EMCO) and the World Fellowship of Buddhist Youth. To further enhance the involvement of Buddhists in nation building, YBAM regularly expresses its opinion on the current affairs and Buddhist rights through the media.
Buddha Sasana Nuggaha Organization was founded in 1947 in Burma (now Myanmar) with the object of propagating the Buddha Sasana (i.e. Teaching of the Buddha) through scriptural learning and practice of Vipassana (Insight) meditation.
This meditation center was opened two years after the establishment of the above Organization, with the most Venerable Mahasi Sayadaw as its Principal Preceptor.
