Venerable Bhikkhu Bodhi is a Buddhist monk of American nationality. He received a Ph.D. degree from Claremont Graduate School in 1972 and later that same year he entered the Buddhist Order as a Pupil of the Ven. Balangoda Ananda Maitreya Mahanayake Thera. He is the author of several important works on Theravada Buddhism.
