Društvo theravadskih budistov Bhavana je bilo ustanovljeno na dan Pavarane, dne 10. oktobra 2003. Sedež društva je v Ljubljani, Andreaševa 1. Društvo združuje ljudi, ki jih zanima budistična misel in praksa, s posebnim poudarkom na theravadski tradiciji, ter razvijanje te tradicije skozi meditativne, filozofske in moralno etične vidike.
Dhammadipa is een vipassana meditatiecentrum in de traditie van Mahasi Sayadaw. Het biedt begeleiding voor en mogelijkheden tot:
- beoefening van vipassana meditatie,
- bestudering van de leer van de Boeddha (dhamma en abhidhamma),
- aanverwante activiteiten zoals themadagen rond bijvoorbeeld metta meditatie.
Die Theravada Gruppe Salzburg hat die Lehre und Praxis des Theravada-Buddhismus nach dem Pali-Kanon zum Ziel. Bei der Meditation wird vor allem die Vipassana-Meditation als Technik angewandt.
Le Dhamma Group de Bruxelles existe depuis 1986. Il s’agit d’une association bouddhiste de tradition théravada dont le but est principalement de faire connaître et de diffuser la méditation vipassana telle qu’elle pratiquée en Birmanie.
Ketumati Buddhist Vihara, presently based in Hollins, Oldham is the premium Buddhist Vihara in Greater Manchester for the Sri Lankan expatriate community of the North West of UK. It is run by the Ketumati Buddhist Vihara Trust, a registered charity founded in 1999. Venarable Pidiville Piyatissa, with whose guidance the Vihara project was inaugurated, under the guidelines of its governing document, functions as the Chief Incumbent Priest.
The main objects of the Trust are the setting up of centres for the Teaching of Buddha Dharma (Theravada) and teaching of Buddhist Meditation.
The Vihara holds Monthly Dhamma Sermons of the Buddhas Teachings conducted by experienced teachers, Meditation retreats and classes in Buddha Damma and Sinhala for the children of the expatriate community -Ketumati Dhamma School.

It’s surrounded by oak woods in a peaceful and silent environment in the Appenine foothills, just below a higher hill called Monte Santo, 600 metres above sea level.
Esta Comunidade Religiosa (Sangha) sem fins lucrativos, instituí-se a convite de leigos portugueses, com o aval do Conselho Geral dos Monges Séniores das Comunidades Monásticas Reconhecidas, da Tradição da Floresta da Tailândia da Linha de Ajahn Chah, com o intuito de estabelecer um Mosteiro da Tradição em Portugal, tendo, para esse efeito, indigitado os dois monges subscritores dos Estatutos da Comunidade.
Os monges convidados para liderarem este movimento, seguem o treino tradicional das Escrituras Budistas (Vinaya) na linha da Tradição Tailandesa da Floresta do mosteiro Wat Nong Pah Pong, que foi fundado por Ajahn Chah. Esta tradição foi trazida para fora da Tailândia por Ajahn Sumedho e outros discípulos ocidentais. O contacto que as pessoas estabelecem com a comunidade monástica, permitirá cultivar a generosidade, a virtude e a sabedoria tanto nas pessoas como na sociedade em geral. Assim se poderão os seres libertar.
A vida monástica mendicante depende da boa vontade das pessoas para as necessidades materiais. A partir de Julho de 2012 os monges começaram a viver em Lisboa. A médio e longo prazo estamos à procura de um lugar mais apropriado como mosteiro, com espaço para monges viverem e pessoas poderem visitar o mosteiro por períodos de tempo curtos e longos.
Samatha meditation involves mindfulness of breathing. Paying attention to the breath ecourages the mind to calm and still. Stillness brings wellbeing and understanding.
The Monaghan group meets at Corcaghan Community Centre most Mondays at 7.00 pm. The group is open to anyone who wants to come along at any time.
